Pre-School at First Steps Barley Croft (Age 2)
Starting in a setting at the age of 2 is an important milestone in the life long learning journey for your child. It provides the initial exposure to school and sets the tone for their educational career.
At Barley Croft, we work in partnership with First Steps Barley Croft, an independent pre-school setting based on the school site.
If you would like your child to attend First Steps Barley Croft, please contact them directly. All details can be found on their website using the link below.
Applying for a Nursery place at Barley Croft Primary School (Age 3)
Your child is eligible for a Nursery space from the term after they turn 3. Research shows that children who attend a Nursery school have the best outcomes at the age of 8, so we would encourage you to consider Barley Croft Nursery for your child. We can help with a fully funded place for 15 or 30 hours, although any additional care that may be required will be charged for.
The Early Years (Reception and Nursery) provision at Barley Croft Primary School is excellent. We follow the 'Curiosity Approach' to foster awe and wonder in every child in a unique and stimulating environment. If you would like to know more about this approach, please see the 'Class Pages' tab under the 'Children' menu of the website.
In order to take this important first step, please make contact with the School Office by in person, by phone or email to register your interest. We will then help you complete the application form and other paperwork required. One of the most important parts of the process - a home visit - will then be arranged with you which will begin to establish this important first relationship between school staff, you and your child.
Please read the Nursery prospectus which will answer many FAQs, however if you require any further information or wish to arrange a visit to the school, please contact the school office.
All secondary school applications for current Y6 pupils must be made by 31st October 2018. You can do this by following the link above.
