Welcome to Nursery & Reception

Welcome to Nursery and Reception. Please see below all the members of our team who work in the base this academic year.

If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to one of us. There is always a member of the team in the door before or after school. Alternatively you can call the school office to make an appointment to see us.

We all settled brilliantly into our new school, learning how to do so many new things and meeting new friends.

Nursery and Reception children enjoyed learning around our question “I wonder who we are?” We read the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears and learnt all about themselves and others and different houses and homes.  

All EYFS children started their Forest School sessions. This year Miss Miller and Mrs Brewster are working hard to develop our new forest school area with the pupils – Watch this space! 

This half term sees the children learn all around our question – “I wonder what people celebrate?” Our class stories included Funnybones, Incy Wincy spider and The Gingerbread Man. We learned about lots of different special days including Halloween, Remembrance day, Diwali, Bonfire Night and Christmas.This half term sees the children learn all around our question – “I wonder what people celebrate?” Our class stories included Funnybones, Incy Wincy spider and The Gingerbread Man. Forest School this half term saw the children enjoy their very first campfire! They took on bard the fore safety rules and toasted their own marshmallows, making them into yummy smores. They also had a sparkler to celebrate the festival of light Diwali and Bonfire Night.

The children enjoyed lots of celebrations this half term. Here is some of our remembrance and Diwali activities we took part in.

Our whole school took part in raising some money for Children in Need. We wore our own clothes or dressed in our Pudsey outfits and took part in a fun danceathon where we danced for 30minutes! We all enjoyed showing off our best dance moves.     

Lots of fun was had celebrating Christmas in the classroom for our Nursery and Reception children.

All EYFS children enjoyed a trip to Conkers to see Santa! They got to make their very own robin hanging decoration, enjoy a ride on the train and see Santa in his cosy Grotto. What a fun day!
